Collaborations: Land Crabs Gathering 2010
For those that enjoy the outdoor spirit combined with diverse Electronic Music and Arts, Far North Queensland provides an amazing playground throughout Australian Winter Season and is popular among artists who are regular on the outdoor festival circuit. Imagine blissfully warm days and fantastically crisp and enjoyable nights surrounded by beautiful nature along with plethora of visuals, installation art and vast variety of electronic music and talent showcasing the latest innovation in sound covering; progressive, techno, minimal, psy, glitch, experimental, reggae, and aussie hip hop.

As the Festival Season Explodes on the region, among such events we have Collaborations : Land Crabs Gathering which is in its 4th year with new adopted name- “Collaborations” and with attentive fan base it is sure promising to be something special once again. Running over duration of 23rd, 24th and 25th of July at a close proximity to Cooktown, this years event is offering an amazing array of talent as well as an additional stage which has been added to the overall picture that will cater for the fans of Raggae and Aussie Hip hop with the likes of Buttah The Verbal Wordsmith,The Vexed Versa as well as ever popular Zennith and Coalition.

Only 83 Days to go till Cairns Winter Solstice 2010 (June 18th -21st) is upon us and anticipation grows day by day. First set of announcements have been released today and already its looking as epic as ever!

Some of the Music artists which will feature this year’s festival will include;

Erphun, Frechback, Pan Electric, Tetrameth, ShadowFX, SunControlSpecies, Claude Hay, The Mollusk, Bent Intent, Grouch, Chocolate Strings, Faeorin, Zennith, Danni B, Sun In Aquarious, One Tasty Morsel, The Stickleback and many more to be released as it gets closer to the date.

No words can describe it! Winter Solstice is a truly wonderful event that holds thousands of close friends that venture out for the 4 day getaway and amazing experience whilst among the nature with clear skies, foggy mornings, cool nights and warm days. Music! Music is on a nother level, being completely blessed with healthiest line up we all could experience in ages, progression of artists would be described as cream upon cream upon cream.

This year I was fortunate enough to work with my good friends and colleagues in visual department. This along provided for some amazing visual combination and creative outlet as far as various visuals styles are concerned. Ahhh.. Winter Solstice. Among one of the most anticipated events in North Queensland. Into its 4th year this Annual Celebration & Sustainable Lifestyle Gathering is a 4 day / 3 night outback camping adventure will be held from June 12-15, 2009 on the Tablelands, 2 hrs drive from Cairns. With the date quickly approaching the creative buzz in the community is in a full swing as numbers of artists begin to migrate up north along with vast amount of arts and installations that will shape up the atmosphere and environment for this festival.
