With 6 months of events in its history, the future looks bright for Racket collective. Running every first Thursday of every month @ Miss Libertines, next installement is scheduled for Thursday 6th of January 2011 with a splendid line up of electronic artists and live visualists (7pm-Midnight). The event is aimed to support Melbourne live media scene for performers and pundits alike, all while keeping entry prices to the event most affordable. $5! Bargain! Support those events that support you and soak up great selection of live music and visuals!

As for the venue itself, recently I had inspected Miss Libertines in person, I can say that the venue is a comfortable place to enjoy your night out, with great and tasty food, student friendly beer prices and overall cosy atmosphere. Located at 34 Franklin Street (Melbourne City), its an easy place to find and in close to trains and trams.

More Social Media Exchange Channels for VJs: VJTube.net

vjtube
This might be of interest to all VJ’s who are looking to share, promote they own work or simply get little inspiration in a field of Live Visual Art/Performance/Experimental. VJTube.net is a new website to the scene (to me anyway) and is a healthy addition to the growing list of similar websites that already out there. Think VJVault.com, Videopong.net, etc.

Mother 0.5 is now on OSX and Windows

mother icon
Mother has reached a new milestone today (0.5) by expanding to OSX and adding processing update to version 1.0.7. Through discussion with Illias previously I have made a suggestion of trying to keep processing libraries in separate folders from Mother.jar that’s so if processing.org makes an update, Mother update could be simply implemented through overwriting some folders. Im very happy that this feature is now implemented and functioning. Thanks Illias!

To Download Mother version 0.5.0, visit from Google code repository and grab your preferred version (PC/OSX).

VJ Russia.ru Website

New link arrived through some of this webblog track backs from VJRussia. With Love… naturally :)

From very brief observation it looks like an awesome VJ related and Art portal which will only grow and already has a great potential. Its also nice to read about VJ scene in Russia which I have so much interest about. Worth a look if you can read and understand Russian VJRussia.ru but don’t despair, with having extra help from Google Translation Service, website can be translated to english to understandable English VJRussia.com/en/

Illumination 10 Review

Over last week-end I had the pleasure to perform visuals as part of Illumination (Cairns) – White Party which was brought by Silver Gem and it had its 10th Anniversary since the inception in 1999.  The event is a brain child of Deano & Venus who had put a lot of effort and vision to make and keep making this event reality year after year. I want to thank them dearly for they efforts.

This was my first time to perform at this show, even though I nearly made into the line up for the last year, this was the time. The event itself attracts somewhat diffrent audience to what you’d normally see at outdoor bush events in North Queensland which was a nice change as it brings new crowd to electronic music and arts for people to enjoy.

I was booked to do live vj’ing work on main stage along side Blakey (vj Phrosporous) and a string of local and nation talent with amazing sound, light and lazer rigs to boot. Continue Reading
