About
vdmo Kstati – 2 C Now!
Since the initial vdmo Kstati project began well over 4 years ago, my initial translation of its name representation translated from Russian was – “Seems to be Right Now” and to some extend it does still hold to some degree. Despite that, only recently after discussion with my good friend Craigos, we came to consensus that – “2 C Now” is even more to the point and it especially highlights – “Now“!
Since everything is always about Now, it would be appropriate for people to be reminded about that fact as I don’t think everybody yet understands.
Where do I come from as an artist? Clearly,- from out to within and out!
In many projects that I was involved and produced, my initial interests always came from the surroundings of each place, with its unique attributes, history and culture. Through understanding such environments and looking at them from interactive point of view by combining online interaction and social gatherings with same theme, it allows you to look at individuals through all sorts of levels and increasing personal social and interactive discussions and collaborations.
In a sense where such events have grown and developed from, evolution came with new ways of running events, additional technologies, video implementation, installations and all other sorts of fun things to do.
My obvious interest in all of that was clearly,- Motion or video elements of this production industry(which it is). Without having much of a reference to it at first, it felt like walking into the dark forest without any fear and with ambition to bring the light to the darkness and generally grow through this equilibrium process myself.
University, Event Production, odd web design sub contracting kept all the ideas warm unill the moment where ideas would begin to overflow and some would have to come out and surface. It is also incredible how obscure you meet some people through your life experience and they serve as an amazing guide through the critical elements of this process. Tony and Gary were such good friends and mates. Would be difficult to get my vj launching point without they support and resources.
Months and years later, I started to find myself in all sorts of odd places and enviroments doing seemingly
new but never the less an established craft of live video manipulation. With growing ambitions to try out new territories, I became frequent up north in Cairns and surrounding areas of beautiful deep North.
That area in particular has attracted me as perfect stepping stone in culture which I was familiar with through my previous projcts such as milkcommunity, etc. The feel of the outdoor parties, the free spirited individuals who make up the core of the community are one of the strongest reasons I felt like home about that place. I had thought for well over the year about such possibility, but due to many other distructions and in the right time I made the move in December 08.
Since the move, I have discovered myself in very interesting and exciting position of being one of the busiest visual artists in the Cairns area. The only other currently practising artist is Blake who due to the coarse of his working employment conditions and family arrangements had to make a move and pursuit his other priorities elsewhere, which on top of thing would open up even more possible work. That’s how it worked out to be.
Only recently I was able to travel interstate and perform in Melbourne and Sydney that has given me another point of dimension as far as I can take my creative approach to go. With incredible experiences throughout each state, I had discovered even further passion and understanding of where I would want to see myself go and what other sub genres in Audio/Video related production I want to take it to.
vdmo Kstati is passionate Visualist/VJ acting as Multimedia producer that strongly believes that Visual aspects are extremely important in any Event production and particularly enjoys performing with Electronic Dance Music as source of Inspiration.
Being involved in parallel worlds of Multimedia development and Event production and management for a long time now (nearly a decade), the blend of two eventually happened as one sunny day, the live vdmo Kstati show was born. And there was no turning back ever since.
