LSBeatz Grand Opening was a great success. This morning I had decided to put few of the short clips I filmed from Saturday night night and put them here to see for everyone. Hope you enjoy. The clip doesn’t feature Spiral Soundsystem or Soljah, but let me assure you that sets they played were awesome.

Processing is incredible platform for creating visual ideas and generating stunning Audio Visual multimedia pieces. To be frank with the whole thing, to the day I haven’t performed with Processing as a sole software option at any of the gigs that I have played, yet never the less I incorporate some of the processing sketches that I record and post-edit in my production.

Well, that’s until Mother came to the scene. -A program that allows VJing with Processing.org sketches.

The lead developer Ilias Bergstrom has been working through developing this invaluable tool which in my opinion can launch Processing as source of visual performance to another level.
The current development version (Mother 0.3 in Development) has been announced just under a month ago and what now seemingly its coming to a near launch stage with followed up post from Ilias on Onar3d- Maria Louiza.

I will take some time in next few days to give much more detailed review of my personal experience, yet in the mean time, check out provided links for more info on the subject.

What started out as a ‘discovery’ compilation in 2008 has now established itself as a musical expedition cutting through the noise of Electro House into something much deeper. The second volume in the series, Progression 2 is an emotive compilation of tracks mixed by Adam K and Hook N Sling.

Driven almost solely by word of mouth, 2008′s Progression spread through the underground club community just as the reign of the super club came to an end. Despite not having been mixed by a headliner, it continues to win new followers over with it’s peerless musical vision 6 months on.

Progression 2 showcases an epic selection of atmospheric tracks and heralds in a new era in the constantly evolving underground club scene. This time around, with two of the scene’s most prominent figures at the helm to mix the album Progression 2 will be taking in a string of special club events across the country.

Adam K, who featured prominently in the first Progression, has returned to mix Disc 1. Known for his blending of Progressive, Electro, Techno, and Tech House, he is one of the sole representatives of the Progression sound, and brings with him a unique approach to mixing, inspired by his time spent totally immersed in all aspects of dance music.

Having spent years composing, producing, and engineering he has collaborated with and remixed numerous world renowned artist including Deadmau5, Tiesto, and Hatiras. More recently Adam has landed numerous Top 10 tracks on Beatport and his latest, “Twilight”, was lauded as Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune in November.

With an impressive collection of hits under his belt already including “The Bump” and “The Best Thing 2008″, Hook N Sling has mixed Disc 2.

Instantly recognised by his richly layered trademark sound, this is not Anthony’s first foray into mixing, having compiled Ministry’s wildly successful gold-selling compilation “Clubbers Guide to 2008″. But he is by no means a safe choice, being known one of the most unpredictable, genre-blending producers to come on the scene in recent years, a title which has lead him to places most only dream about.
Anthony has been placed in inthemix’s Top 5 producers, and has been nominated for an ARIA, amongst numerous other local and international accolades. He has also remixed for other artists including Martijn Ten Velden, Bass Kleph, Stanton Warriors, The Potbelleez, and The Cobra Dukes. And these intelligent club productions continue to forge his notoriety both here and abroad with forthcoming remixes on Germany’s Pickadoll label as well as Roger Sanchez’ stealth imprint.

Its hard to believe, but my week long stay in Melbourne is about to come to an end. I’m sure there will be many happy returns in the future, yet for now, I’m about to fly over to Sydney for another few days so that should be pretty exciting.

What’s been happening,…well quite a lot actually. Last Friday, Alliance Technique, – brand new night launched at Platform One and it has been interesting to say the least. Working among my great group of friends we presented a brand new night full of tecno, tech house, minimal and some visuals by yours truly.

Following night I had time to myself to explore some of the Melbourne little jams and so I made my way to club Ffour which has become a bit of institution for attracting fine talents across the globe and nationally and boasting great string of residents that could highlight any party; Mike Calendar, Dave Pham just to name a few.

Caught up with my friend netz- active vj within Melbourne scene,- someone who I been in touch for quite a while online yet who I never met in person. It was his going away party to Japan and it was a true pleasure to finally meet him. The night continued and to my surprise Phil K made an appearance which followed by an amazing 3 hour set that he layed out,- absolute bliss. Keep an eye on Photos from Ffour that should come up inthemix for Melbourne. Hint* see Phil K in Cairns mid May!

Monday, I had taken a trip away from Melbourne and together with my flatmate from Cairns went to Wangaratta where his parents live. Was interesting to see a bit more of country Victoria on the way and it was a good opportunity to see the sights and take some photos and videos along the way.
Upon return back to the city it really gives you a point of difference between the thriving city centre and dry and dusty country Victoria. All points aside, overall it has been a great trip.
