Happy 2009 Everyone!

Well I surely hope that most of you had a lovely time over this festive season and your new years resolution are starting to turn wheels.
This year is a mark of starting something new for me.  This week I have marked upon making a permanent move to Cairns in North Queensland.   Somewhat of a long time coming as I had it playing on my mind for close to 2 years, now it finally came true.   The environment is much better suited from both culturally and spiritual aspects of being here, very well established and progressive electronic scene (which I feel I have become a part of), amazing people, beautiful  surroundings among other very worthwhile reasons which all gave me green lights ahead to finally DO it.

My arrival here coincided with performance at NYE festival called : Infinity & Beyond. Wow and what festival it was. The location was chosen up at Atherton Tableland by Mungalli Falls with established dorm rooms and apartment buildings and other infrustructure which provided to be so useful as mother nature had some other ideas in mind.

As we arrived to the site to the ongoing rain, you left but wonder of the commitment and dedication of people involved in the event.  A bit after myself, Suspect made our way to the stages and were in preparation for our upcoming sets. I came down and have set up equipment and began organising the vision to the projector which after short period of time was running like clockwork.

The first part of the set was alongside dropbear and its always an enjoyable experience as we compliment each other styles and techniques and provide for an interesting combo if visuals that go with the music. After midnight I went of for another 3 hours playing to variety of progressive and psy sounds.
The following day after getting some sleep I was able to relax and enjoy some of the music played out through the morning and early part of the day on the stage.
To cut the long story short, as day progressed, the rain came back on, which after little while had turned heavy and caused multiple water reservoirs to become running waterfalls which rushed down the hill swiping everything in its way. Everyone had to quickly make they way up to a higher ground to prevent any possible harm by strong water currents after most of the sensitive electronic equipment was placed on tables and so forth.

Few hours later the party was set into motion again, this time utilising one of the kitchen huts that was perfect for this occasion. Music was amazing especially noted Ghettafunkt and Mauxuam.

Hey I was there too :) . although we only stayed for a night, it was still an awesome. I actually came across your blog by trying to find if there’s going to be another festival this year. Unfortunately I couldn’t find anything, do you by any chance know if there’s something similar happening this year?
